A global chemical manufacturer is searching for an R&D Manager. The chosen applicant will be in charge of leading the research, development, and optimisation of silicone, hybrid, and urethane sealants for industrial and construction applications.
Responsibilities:
- Lead formulation and development of silicone, hybrid, and urethane sealants
- Identify and integrate new raw materials and additives to enhance performance and sustainability
- Optimise existing formulations to meet customer, regulatory, and cost requirements
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes for scalability and efficiency
- Conduct structure-property studies to improve adhesion, curing, and weather resistance
- Ensure compliance with global regulatory standards and maintain product certifications
- Oversee testing and validation of product performance under real-world conditions
- Lead and mentor R&D chemists and engineers to drive innovation and excellence
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners for joint development initiatives
Requirements:
- Master’s degree or above in polymer science, chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, or a related field (Ph.D. in a relevant discipline is preferred)
- More than 7 years of research and development experience in sealants, adhesives, or polymer formulations
- Extensive hands-on expertise in the formulation of silicone, hybrid, and urethane sealants
- Strong foundational knowledge of polymer chemistry, crosslinking mechanisms, and adhesion science
- Familiarity with various curing technologies, including moisture cure and urethane
technology - Proficient in analytical techniques such as FTIR, TGA, geometry, and tensile & shear
analysis - Native level Korean; proficient in English is preferred
