Business Development Director

    Location: Seoul Capital Area

    Contract Type: Permanent

    Salary: ₩150,000,000 – ₩200,000,000 per annum

    A technology company is searching for a Business Development Director. The selected candidate will drive strategic content partnerships, evaluate and negotiate content opportunities, and manage relationships with key industry players.

    Responsibilities:

    • Identify and source potential content partners and IP owners to register their content within the company ecosystem
    • Evaluate content from creative and commercial perspectives to ensure alignment with product lines and audience needs
    • Lead end-to-end negotiations for content licensing and partnership agreements, managing financial, legal, and operational aspects
    • Build and maintain strong senior-level relationships with content providers and industry stakeholders
    • Provide strategic consulting to internal teams on content strategy, selection, and new opportunities
    • Manage partner agreements, track performance data, and make data-driven recommendations for content improvements
    • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure successful market launches of new content
    • Stay updated on copyright law, industry trends, and emerging technologies to maintain expertise and market awareness

    Requirements:

    • More than 10 years in consulting, investment banking, content strategy, and business development is preferred (consulting or banking background is advantageous)
    • Extensive deal experience in Korea, especially with deals involving top media names like CJ, Nexon, Naver, HYBE, SM Entertainment, JYP Entertainment, or YG Entertainment
    • Strong existing relationships across Korea’s tech, business, and culture
      media landscape
    • Deep understanding of Korea’s cultural, tech, and entertainment landscape, especially crypto, AI, gaming, entertainment, creator economy, and K-content IP
    • Experience in Web3, crypto, blockchain, or emerging tech is strongly preferred
    • Familiarity with Korea’s regulatory and policy dynamics around crypto, AI, IP, or internet platforms is a major plus
    • Prior role at a global consulting firm or investment bank experience in the entertainment sector is desirable
    • Experience working in a licensing team within a large tech platform is desirable
    • Involvement in Korean startup, VC, or blockchain communities is desirable
    • Native level Korean; fluent level English
