A global electronic interconnect manufacturer is searching for a Product Design Engineer. The selected applicant will design, develop, and validate connector solutions, as well as resolve product development and quality issues.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, purchasing, quality, manufacturing, test engineering, process engineering, electroplating, suppliers, and other teams to develop products and solutions
- Conduct engineering cost analyses based on product scopes
- Contribute to the design, development, and validation of connector solutions, including board, cable, power, high-speed, and panel mount products
- Identify and resolve problems during new product development and when quality concerns arise
- Ensure compliance with corporate engineering standards, including documentation, file management, part modelling, and simulation
- Plan and schedule daily tasks independently, applying formal education and judgment to develop solutions
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- More than 3 years of related experience is preferred
- Experience in electrical connector design, plastic injection moulding, and progressive die stamping
- Experience in engineering design software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.)
- Proficient in MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience in simulation software (FEA, CFD/thermal modeling, etc.) is preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
