We are looking for a Structure Engineer with relevant experience to contribute to the development of launch vehicles and launch pad systems. We welcome applications from professionals with expertise in aerospace structures and engineering.
Responsibilities:
- Develop structural systems for launch vehicles and launch pads
- Define structural design requirements and improve outcomes
- Conduct conceptual and detailed structural design
- Perform design optimization and weight reduction
- Design based on manufacturing and assembly processes
- Establish/execute structural testing plans and analyze results
- Manage structural system integration and interfaces
Requirements:
- Master’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Engineering, or Civil Engineering (PhD preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in aerospace/space structure design and analysis preferred
- Strong background in structural design & analysis, mechanical/aerospace engineering, structural mechanics preferred
- English proficiency
- Experience in design of launch vehicles, aircraft, or medium-to-large structures
- Proficiency in finite element analysis software
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software
- Understanding of mechanics of materials, structural mechanics, and dynamics
- Ability to use data analysis and visualization tools
- Skilled in technical documentation and management
- Understanding and analysis of fatigue and fracture mechanics (preferred)
- Proficiency in optimization design and topology optimization software (preferred)
- Knowledge of additive manufacturing (AM) processes and related design capabilities (preferred)
- Systems engineering capabilities (preferred)
- Experience leading structural design in launch vehicle/aircraft development projects (preferred)
- Experience in composite structure design and analysis (preferred)
- Knowledge and experience with high-temperature or cryogenic materials (preferred)
- Experience in aerospace structural design and development (preferred)
- Experience in structural optimization and lightweight design/development (preferred)
